Stephen Jett was born about 1780 in Holston River area of Tennessee. He was the son of Stephen Jett, Sr. and Phoebe Crawford. He migrated to Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in 1804. He migrated to Cow Bayou, Liberty Co., Mexican Texas in 1830. He died before 1850. Stephen and Sarah had the following children:

He migrated to Cow Bayou, Liberty District, Mexican Texas in 1823 with his younger brother, Absalom. He died December 7, 1864 in Tarkington Prairie, Texas.

         D-2   Elizabeth Jett was born about 1806 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was married to (1)William Landrum on May 8, 1822 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was married to (2)Clark Beach on May 16, 1834 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was married to (3)James Berry in Harris Co., Texas. She died about 1862 in Harris Co., Texas.

         D-3   Jemina Jett was born about 1808 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was married to (1)John McDonald in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was married to (2)Duncan St. Clair in Jefferson Co., Texas. She died about 1849 in Jefferson Co., Texas.

         D-4   John Jett was born November 3, 1811 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He was married to Jane Swann on January 22, 1833 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He migrated to migrated to Cow Bayou, Liberty District, Mexican Texas in 1824. He died May 18, 1849 in Orange, Jefferson Co., Texas.

                             F-5    Willis Warren Jett, Sr. was born January 31, 1876 in Orange Co., Texas. He was married to Laura Emalou Frazier on October 25, 1908 in Waverly, Texas. He was elected Liberty Co. Tax Assessor and Collector from 1850-1880. He died February 28, 1959 in Liberty Co., Texas.

                                       G-4   Ernest Carroll Jett was born April 11, 1920 in Tarkington Prairie, Liberty Co., Texas. He was married to Mary Ella Gladden in Waco, Texas. He was an employee on Exxon Oil Co. In the Controller’s office. He retired as General Credit Manager of Exxon Oil, U.S.A.

         D-5   Absalom Jett was born in 1813 in Plaquemine Brulee, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He migrated to Cow Bayou, Liberty District, Mexican Texas with his older brother, James in 1823. He served in the Company of Cap. Benjamin J. Harris in the Army of the Republic of Texas in 1836. There is a Texas Historical Marker in his honor in the Jett Cemetery in Jett Cemetery in Orange, Texas. He was married to Mary Arthur in Jefferson Co., Texas. He died in 1878 in Adams Bayou, Orange Co., Texas.

Mary Arthur was born in 1814. She was the daughter of Barnabus C. Arthur and Lucinda Bond. Absalom and Mary had the following children:
